About Me

I’ve always been infatuated by social media; the pretty feeds, the way it shapes our identities, and the creativity it gives us.

I’ve seen the progression of social media being used to connect with friends and family, to the rise of user-generated-content hiding ads in plain sight, to brands now relying on it to make income. My inkling to turn this digital space – once my escape – into my career led me to leave my hometown, Waringh Waringh (Warwick), Queensland, and move to Meanjin (Brisbane). Here I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Communication, at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in late 2024.

From electronic direct mail campaigns, to magazine collaborations, I'm passionate about bringing unique visions to life.

How I got here

October 2023 - Present

Digital Marketing Assistant | Little Black Dress Digital (LBD Digital)

Starting as an intern, I transitioned to my current role as a Marketing Assistant in January 2024. My primary responsibility is managing internal marketing for LBD Digital and its branch, LBD Racing. This includes creating organic content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok, publishing bi-monthly blog posts, and producing monthly EDMs. I also help develop blog articles and social media content for clients across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

2019 - Present

Freelance Creative | Self-employed

I have been offering freelance writing and digital marketing services since September 2022, building on experience gained through on-and-off work in the field since 2019. Some of my writing experience includes creative nonfiction, interviews, poetry, and short stories for magazine publications. I have also provided various clients social media management, UGC, and custom brand kits, helping them bring their visions to life.

2024

Copywriter & Blog Manager | Vermilion Records

For my final university industry project, I was a copywriter for the Vermilion Records magazine and mini magazine, and also served as the blog manager, where I constructed all content for the Vermilion blog. I received a High Distinction for this work.

2024

Writer & Social Media Coordinator | Blatherskite

During my first industry project for university, I was the writer for the original three part podcast, CityChat, where I achieved a High Distinction. I also took on the leadership role of strategising Blatherskite's central Instagram page by constructing a brand kit and social media posts promoting podcast episodes across multiple initiatives.

2023

Treasurer & Digital Marketing Coordinator | Frocket Zine

Originally an Assistant Feature Editor, I was promoted to an executive position for QUT's student-run fashion magazine, Frocket Zine, in July, 2023. My Treasurer role included overseeing finances, preparing the budget and monitoring income and expenditure, and reporting relevant financial information to Frocket staff at annual general meetings. My Social Media Coordinator role included analysis and evaluation of Frocket's social media insights, directing two social media assistants in content creation, with the aim to share information about zine submissions and upcoming events.

2023

Assistant Feature Editor | Frocket Zine

As an Assistant Feature editor, I collaborated with other creatives, feature editors and layout editors to consistently adhere to the Creative Director’s vision for the zine. I was responsible for providing industry standard copyediting and line editing for feature articles, creative pieces, and various other content types, working under strict deadlines.

2022

Journalism Intern | Pressenza International Press Agency

This industry experience as a journalist helped me develop my voice as a writer. With experience in news reporting, opinion pieces, photojournalism, interview pieces and feature articles, I contributed to Pressenza’s human rights movement of ‘Non-violent Journalism’. Over my internship I collaborated with various writers, mentors and editors from across Australia and overseas.

2018

Student Journalist | Warwick Daily News

Partaking in work experience as a student journalist for Warwick Daily News taught me fundamental verbal and written communication skills, as well as meeting tight deadlines, presenting information in self-written articles, working in a fast-paced atmosphere, and presenting myself neatly at work each day.

2017

Student Journalist | The Quarterly

During my time contributing to Assumption College Warwick’s student-operated magazine, The Quarterly, I gained experience working in a team environment through weekly meetings, applying critical thinking to coordinate and write articles, and advancing my self-editing skills.
